“He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds.” Psalm 147:3
I’m so excited about the project I’m currently working on! It was an idea that God gave to my co-author, Tina Samples, in the middle of the night. We’re kindred spirits and both sing, speak, and write, so we’d been praying for a way to work together for years. God has been incredibly faithful.
The book—and a companion women’s retreat we’re developing-- will be released in 2013 from Kregel Publishing. Tina and I are collecting stories from contemporary women who've been healed in various ways--emotionally, spiritually, physically, or mentally. We’ll be including our own stories of God’s grace and mercy at different points in the book, but we need LOTS of material from others.
I'd love to see anything you want to send. You don’t have to be a great writer—I can adapt and edit your story while keeping your thoughts and voice. Just let me know if you’re okay with that when you contact me. I can also interview you and write your story that way. You can even be "anonymous" or use a pen name, if you'd prefer. :)
Submissions should be under 500 words, with lots of detail and "showing not telling" about how God has healed you from a wound of any kind. My email is denadyer@gmail.com and I'd like to receive your piece as a Word attachment, if possible. If you don’t use Word or a compatible program, you can send your story in the body of an email. Please include your email address, phone number, and snail mail address.
I'd like to receive your story by Dec. 31, but I’ll continue to take submissions indefinitely. If we don't use a submission in the book, we'll consider it for a new blog we’re starting for wounded women. I'll be sure and let you know when/if we use your stories and get your permission. :) We'll only use it one time, and you can use it elsewhere if you'd like. Payment is one copy of the book when it's published, and my undying gratitude.
Thanks so much. Feel free to pass on this info; I'd really appreciate it. And I look forward to reading your testimony of God’s grace and goodness!
